Our Museum

Opera House Front.jpg

Our museum is housed in the former Groninger Opera House, pictured on left. The building was erected in 1909 and served the community in various capacities. The upstairs hall was used until 1949 for basketball games and graduations.

The grand opening of the museum was held in May of 2018. Featured displays include a period classroom, a veterans display and items from Annie Holl’s General Store, Suring grocery stores, farm tractor and car dealerships and many other businesses of the 1900’s.

Future projects for the museum include building maintenance and new displays such as Betty Christianson’s Ukranian Eggs.

Open hours are from May through September, on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. To make an appointment outside those hours, contact any of our trustees. Volunteers are always welcome and needed. Read here to learn more about how to support the museum and the historical society.
